"zona de derrama first chapter" its a dance composed for and with 3 dancing bodies and dedicated to outdoor spaces: It happens in the twilight, when the reminiscent lights are witnessed and the gazes start to get adapted for the night to come.This first chapter, tittled « zona de derrama », integrate the first group choreography guided by Catol Teixeir, and its created as an ode for liminal spaces of transitions and transmutations.Dancing and celebrating for and at the moment of when a frontier, a border, a limitation can overflow and to trans.pass itself. "Zona de derrama" reach out in constant relation to a dance that is manisfested as a sorrow simultaneouly as a celebration, the dance that happens at the very moment of transformation and changes.
The following chapter, titled « arrebentaçao - zona de derrama last chapter” will be premiere in Novemeber 2024 at Pavillon ADC Geneve + in December at VIDY Theatre Lausanne

Zona de Derrama is a 2 years choreographic project guided Catol Teixeira. It all starts in a gesture of overflowing: a pleasure, an identity, a voice, a song. Always a memory, and a dream. The gesture of dancing is “always more than one” to me. Zoning in a territory of resonances that we, the dancers of the piece, are able to listen and dance through: always in relation and reaching towards the possibility to vibrate.
A dance for *always more than one*, Zona de Derrama is conceptualized in 3 formats:
1. a performative event ”zona1” dedicated to non-theatrical contexts;
2. an outside dance piece “zona de derrama, first chapter” - 45/50min duration, 3 dancers)
3. an indoor dance piece (theatrical black box, 1h30’ dance piece for 5 dancers (Acauã Shereya, Auguste de Boursetty, Collin Cabanis, Catol Teixeira, Luara Raio) named:
”arrebentaçao - zona de derrama final chapter”
Movement, transitions and fragments of a choreographic composition:
We dance into “zones” of tenderness, risk, danger, love, disagreements, resonance, celebration, safety, memory-remembering. These zones are activated throughout a score that is set in a specific consequential order. All zones are composed with precise movement material, but each dancer can visit it within own relation to it, with its own emotions and embodied experiences.
Dealing with an idea of composing with fragments, “zona de derrama” is a wonder into movement language that englobes such fragments to form a dance. The work is made through the collaborations, each artist offers and create the journey that we are constructing together to built this piece and its dance and aesthetic language.
